Veggie Kasha with Sauteed Chilli Garlic Potato Slices and Paprika Hummus

I know I just posted the Kasha Buddha Bowl the other day, but really, you can’t have too many recipes that use this delicious ingredient. It’ still a novelty in this house as we’ve only just recently discovered it, but we’re still enjoying it, so I’ll be using it quite a bit over the next couple of weeks as I discover what other recipes it can be used in! This particular recipe though is super easy and I had some leftover baby potatoes that I wanted to use up so they were a nice little addition that I don’t normally […]

Veggie & Apricot Tagine with a Fruity Herb Cous Cous

The countdown has well and truly begun, less than 6 days to go until Martin and I fling ourselves into the Legion Run! I’ve seen a few clips on facebook of the obstacles going up and it’s getting exciting, scary, but exciting, I’m trying to study them to see what kind of tips I can pick up for technique, although I do think it’s pretty much the case of flinging myself into it and hoping for the best! I’m planning to make sure we fuel ourselves even better this week so that we’re in tip top condition for next weekend, […]

Moroccan Spiced Hot Pot served with Sweet Potato Chips (thin crisps) and Minted Tahini Cream

This dish will tantalise the tastebuds and keep you feeling lovely and toastie this winter. Packed with beautiful herbs and spices, this simple little dinner recipe is just yummy and fabulously healthy. I love Moroccan inspired dishes, the smell from the kitchen is always beautifully fragrant and I can’t wait for it to be ready so I can devour it. The addition of the sweet potato chips was a last minute call for me, I really fancied having a few different textures on the dish, so these chips/crisps and the roasted squash seeds were just ideal and the ingredients all […]

Simple and Delicious Coffee Chocolate Truffles

Looking for something to nibble on during the festive season, then you will be delighted with these simple to make no bake truffles. Coffee and chocolate, another of my favourite flavour combinations works so well when creating sweet treats and they go down very well with a cheeky cup of coffee on a crisp afternoon or as an after dinner surprise. Just keep them in the freezer until you want one and they’ll last a long time so don’t be shy in doubling or tripling the recipe and making a big batch. I only make a small batch at a […]

Winter Warmer, Apple, Plum & Cranberry Crumble

I made a crumble the other day for dessert and decided to forego the traditional apple crumble, so I threw in some other delicious fruits that I had in the kitchen, which happened to be Plums and Cranberries. As it’s winter and it’s getting cool, the colours of the plum and cranberries brought warmth and coziness to the pudding, making it look and taste beautiful. I made up a quick batch of vanilla custard to pour over the top and it was a real comforting and might I add very filling dessert. Quite possibly a Christmas Day contender! We’re putting […]

Clementine & Blue Poppy Seed Loaf

I love Clementine Oranges and usually at this time of year I tend to just stuff them at the bottom of a Christmas stocking to be eaten later on that day, but this is the first time I’ve baked with them and now, it certainly won’t be the last time. I also just noticed that the poppy seeds I picked up at the supermarket were blue (how fabulous) didn’t make any difference to the taste, so if you don’t see any blue poppy seeds at your local shop just buy normal black seeds instead. You could always use sesame seeds […]
