DIY Fashion, Upcycle your old denim shirt to get a unique outfit this summer.

Fashion / Sunday, August 5th, 2012

I just saw this on trashtocouture and had to add it to my inspiration for a refashion project (my “DIY Fashion to try” list is getting longer and longer every day!!), this looks super cute and pretty simple to try out.

I have a few old bandana/square scarves that I don’t wear anymore but I still want to keep, so I’m thinking why not give this project a go, even better the stitching part looks straight forward as well, so ideal for a novice like me.

I’m thinking that this would be a great project for my niece to try out, she’s currently in the “skulls on everything” phase and I have a great pink and black skull scarf that would be gorgeous with an indigo blue shirt.

And I love the stars and stripes look (pictured above), so I’m going to trawl through ebay and see if I can find a scarf to use for my own shirt!

So if you want to turn your plain old denim shirt into a couture piece for your wardrobe, see the full tutorial from trashtocouture here.
