Chili Choc Dipped Strawberries

Eating / Monday, January 28th, 2013

When I told you about the giant apples yesterday I forgot to mention the even bigger (well bigger than normal) strawberries they had in stock. They were pretty pricey but they looked stunning, a vibrant red colour with the green stems still intact, I couldn’t resist. So I bought 4… nearly keeled over when it cost me €1.80 ($2.42), but they were worth it.

Ever since my friend brought us the chili chocolate, I have been adding chili to all my choccie creations, it just gives it a lovely lift and it worked well with the stawberries too.

You can’t believe how excited I am to be getting my new camera next week, I’ve been a little disappointed with some of the photos I’ve taken recently, there’s just not enough light coming through, but I want to photograph all my dishes so I thank you for sticking with it just now and I hope that I can get some great shots when I get back… either that or I’ll realise that I’m just pretty poor at photography.

MyInspiration Feel The Difference Range

Makes 4 large strawberries

4 large strawberries preferably with the stems still intact)

50g Dark Vegan Chocolate (Or vegan white chocolate if you can get it)

Pinch of Chili Powder

Method

1. Clean the strawberries and pop in the fridge for a couple of hours to keep them firm, then microwave your chocolate for 1 minute, giving it a stir ever 20 seconds, until it is full melted, then add in the chili powder and stir through.

2. Using a spoon or if you like just dip your strawberries straight into the chocolate and then give them a little twirl for 20 seconds so the chocolate sets slightly, then you can lay them down on a plate or parchment paper and they won’t stick.

This is a super easy thing to do and would be lovely for Valentine’s day either for your significant other or just a wonderful treat for yourself… because if we can’t spoil ourselves once in a while… well, that’d be boring!
