Fight the fear by mountain climbing in Zakopane

Truth be told I had been stressing and worrying about our trip to Zakopane. After Martin told me we would be mountaineering and taking on the High Tatra Mountains I got straight onto google to read up about it… not such a great idea to be honest. Image after image showed dizzying views and terrifying looking ascents with chains and footholds, with my sporadic bouts of vertigo I genuinely wrote off any idea of taking on the mountain trails unless they were tranquil and 90 year old grannies could do it! Looking at Instagram pictures and google images of summits […]

It’s an epic adventure, roaming Italy in 2014

When we decided to go back to Italy this year for a holiday, I don’t think even we imagined how amazing it would. We love Italy, be it the bustling streets of Rome to the more sedate wanderings around the porticoes of Bologna. Previously we’ve been to Italy on short breaks but this time, we just went for it, 3 weeks of Italian bliss where we managed to walk 300km over the course of the holiday and see so much of this beautiful country (I’m slightly sad this way, I wore my pedometer everywhere!). I just want to share some […]

Our little trip away to Bath, UK

While in the UK this summer we booked a week away in Bath so we could go have a look around the beautiful English countryside and take in some of the local sights, mainly Bath City, Stonehenge, Old Sarum and a little hike up Solsbury Hill just across from where we were staying in Batheaston. Bath is such a gorgeous place to visit, very picturesque and to be honest, I went a bit mad with the camera.  I’ve been choosing from over 300 photos for this one post, so I think these are the best of the best! Thankfully, we […]

New Years Resolutions and Must Do Things for 2013.

Now we’re into December (where has this year gone??) it’s probably time to start thinking about what we want to do or achieve in 2013, be it travel, family, work or play, so I’m thinking of a few ideas before the 31st so I get a bit of a head start in planning a few memorable treats for the upcoming year. Family Time. I know I don’t spend enough time with my family and in this last year we’ve taken steps to increase our “family time” which has been a wonderful change to our lifestyle. The addition of Skype has […]

Top 6 Christmas Markets Across Europe – What better excuse for a shopping trip!

It seems that everywhere I look just now there is a Christmas based theme, the shops have stocked up on their festive chocolates, wines, decorations & selection boxes and the Christmas lights are appearing in the town centre and neighbours are already wondering if it’s too early to put up the Christmas tree! So it seems that when it comes to Christmas time, what better way to get in the festive spirit than a trip to a traditional Christmas Market. There were so many across Europe that I narrowed it down to my favourite 6, otherwise this post would never […]

Looking for a great holiday that won’t leave you penniless? Then Glamping may be the travel inspiration for you!

I only just heard the term “Glamping” today when I saw this gorgeous site next to Loch Ness in Scotland. Glamping, is luxury camping… such a cute term! We’re planning on heading back up to Edinburgh next summer and if I’m in that vicinity anyways… well it would just be rude not to give this a go. I posted a few weeks back that I’ve taken a real interest in “Tiny Houses” and this is just a great way of sampling the premise of small living areas. It also helps that these particular armadilla’s are beautifully furnished and so close […]
