Fashion Trends for 2012

In my previous post I mentioned that I’d found a tutorial for making my own designer printed jeans and lo and behold, this morning an email drops into my inbox from New Look, telling me what the latest fashion trends are, what’s on that list… that’s right Printed Jeans. They also have on that list, Peplums, Lace, Stripey Shorts and Peter Pan Collars, all of which I have seen tutorials for making your own. The only thing I’m not 100% sure of is the Peplums, I don’t really like anything that might make my hips look bigger than they are, […]

Design your own Clothes, Bulgari Inspired Printed Jeans

It just so happens that I’ve had a massive clear out of my wardrobe this week to take my surplus/unworn items to the local charity shop when I came across a pair of black Mango jeans that I haven’t worn in ages, it seems like fate that I also happened upon a great site P.S.-IMadethis.com that gives instruction on how to make your own Printed Jeans inspired by Bulgari’s Serpenti Collection. All I need to get is some sponges and fabric paint and I’ll be the proud owner of some new designer looking jeans! Just need to find out where to get […]

W2H to replace BMI – Check your waist to height ratio today!

Just read today that British Researchers have found a formula that will help us to increase our life expectancy. Seems so simple too, just keep the size of your waist to less than half the size of your height, so for me at 69.5 inches tall, to avoid health related problems like heart disease and diabetes, I need to keep my waist line to under 34.75 inches. Seems very simple. As most of us have come to realise, the BMI (Body Mass Index) isn’t the best method for everyone in calculating how good a shape our bodies are in. With […]

Eating like Vegan Kings

I used to think that I loved cooking before… I had no idea the culinary delights that I was missing out on in the world of vegan eating.  The first thing that many people think when you tell them you’re following a vegan diet is “but you can’t eat anything” or “how do you get your protein/calcium?”, I know this, because I used to think exactly the same way, but when you go a little deeper and decide to make the decision to stop eating foods that are in fact bad for you and embrace a natural diet, you find […]

Celebrity Vegetarians and Vegans

If you need any inspiration on jumping on the vegan/vegetarian diet then this should give you a heads up. These are just some of the stars I came across in looking for vegans & vegetarians. I had no idea than many of these stars were vegans/vegetarians and I can now see how they manage to keep their good looks and sharp minds, some of these stars are well into their old age, yet look 10, 20 years younger than they are. Betty White is by far my greatest inspiration, look at the women. She’s 90 years old, still acting, whizzing […]

Inspiring Others – Really think about what you eat

We’ve been continuing our education on food and how our diet affects us and to be honest, it’s scary, really scary what I’ve been shoveling down my throat for the past 30 years. You believe, quite rightly too, that the food that is on the shelves at the supermarket are suitable for eating, you would never stop to think that in many of the processed foods out there, so many of them are filled with chemicals and additives that are harmful to our bodies. I remember working 9-5, finishing work and getting into the car to drive home, being stuck in […]
