Designer DIY Fashion, Miu Miu Inspired Jewelled Heels, just perfect for the upcoming festive season.

It’s getting close to planning outfits for Christmas & New Year’s Eve parties and I found this tutorial from honestlywtf.com for jewelled heels that just screams “make me”. I love the simplicity and how you can do this with pretty much any of your favourite high heels and they look absolutely stunning… and expensive! So easy, just a pair of heels, selection of rhinestones, glue and your on your way to a pair of chic designer style shoes that won’t break the bank. I perhaps might opt for a slightly smaller heel… don’t want to bump my head on a […]

Fashion Inspiration, the transition from Summer to Autumn and how to work a white vest to make you stand out in the crowd!

Hands up how many of you have been reaching for the Winter Wardrobe stash that’s been packed away since March? I know I have.  Coming into November and I need some serious fashion inspiration for the coming months without blowing my budget. (I feel a trip to the local charity shop coming on!) Enter the ever trusty white vest top. Quick and Easy Tshirt Refashion, takes about 10 minutes and great results

I just found this great tutorial for refashioning a tshirt into a slashed weave top. It was so very simple I ran upstairs, got this old tshirt out and just went for it (hence the reason it’s a bit jagged – I didn’t wait to go buy a decent pair of scissors to make the cutting neater). This took about 10 minutes and as I said, it will look much better next time when I’ve got a proper pair of fabric scissors and I’ll take a bit more care over how straight my weaving is, I do love the result […]

Couture DIY Fashion – Upcycle an old tie into a Preppy Style Necklace, great with a white tshirt.

As I get older, there are times when I have to really think about the styles I can and can’t get away with, so when I saw this tutorial for upcycling a tie into a necklace it got my mind whirling. I love the whole preppy look it has, but it is too young…. I’m going to say no, purely because I love the look of it, especially when worn with the white tshirt, it just looks fabulous and also because of the relative ease in which it can be made. I agree with Shelley, it would also look fantastic […]

Couture DIY Refashion, A simple Vest to an Elegant Lace Top, Great for DIY Fashion Beginners

With summer on the way out, I’ve been looking out all my longer sleeved tops and slowly packing away the halter and strappy tops ready for the cooler weather. If there is one thing I have in abundance, it’s strappy vest tops, so this tutorial from love Maegan has come along at exactly the right time. Turning a simple vest into a beautiful lace top like this is a great idea for revamping my Autumn wardrobe and giving me a real feminine, soft tailoring garment that I can use for multi-puropses, lunch out, meeting, post work drinks, it just goes […]

DIY Fashion, how to make your own couture studded outfits, so very simple it will be hard not to get carried away!

I was having a sneaky peek through wiwt.com as I am prone to do, trying to keep up with what people are wearing and feasting my eyes on how these fashionistas are putting together their own looks with current fashion. Now as you can tell from my previous post, I am gaining a serious interest in all things “studded”, I don’t know what it is that appeals to me… perhaps I just like looking at shiny metal objects… I am easily entertained! But I can see myself in quite a few of the items and I can also see how […]
