Wardrobe Detox – Starting on my minimalist journey!

It’s true what they say, when you clear your house/wardrobe you clear more space in your mind. It sounds so strange that things you have can be weighing you down, yet I have found it to make total sense. Subconsciously all that clutter has been waiting to stress you out! I’ve had clothing stored in 2 different wardrobes, boxes in cupboards, I had a winter wardrobe, a summer wardrobe, a feeling fat wardrobe, it was just too much carry on. I don’t even wear over 50% of the items I’ve accumulated. Vest tops I’ve had since 2006, jeans I’ve had […]

DIY Fashion – Simple Skirt Design, great for Spring/Summer

It’s been a while since I posted anything on DIY Fashion. I think the colder months sent me into clothing hibernation where all I wanted was to wrap up in my big jumper and cocoon myself in my duvet. But the sun is shining and it’s getting close to the time to start getting the legs and shoulders back out there and I just loved the print on this DIY skirt design by Extra Petite.   I wouldn’t normally visit sites called extra petite as I’m far from petite, but what I like about DIY fashion is that you can […]

Simple Refashion, Paillette a Sweater and get this beautiful look.

I saw this today and just had to share, simple because I think it looks gorgeous, I can see it working with many different outfits and the romantic in me sees picnics in the park and strolls through cosmopolitan streets, it really just makes me smile. The photo of course does it wonders, the sun shining, the background scenery, the great dress, it all makes for a stunning outfit. The tutorial itself is pretty straight forward and you can bet it would cost a pretty penny to buy something like this in a shop, but if you’ve got a sweater […]

DIY Fashion, refashion a pair of heels into these beautiful and eye catching foot candy.

I was having a look for some DIY Fashion inspiration and saw these stunning shoes that seem very straight forward to make and would look FABULOUS for a party, especially with your favourite little black dress. So Sex in the City, what’s not to love? I then got to searching for Faux Feathers to use… not as simple to find as I had initially thought, it took me over an hour of searching before I could find artificial feathers that could be used for this design, so if you do fancy the DIY Fashion tutorial from a pair and a […]

DIY Designer Refashion, transform an old vest top into something special.

It’s been a week or 2 since I’ve had a chance to add any DIY refashions to my “to do list” which is growing rapidly.  I keep meaning to pick up some pieces in the charity shop to refashion, but I come back with some other fabulous item I’ve spied! This week, I was in the local hospice charity shop and they had the most stunning Moschino Blazer, it was just sat there on the display SCREAMING my name and “buy me buy me”! So of course I had to… it was a mere €5 (which I think is $6.50), there […]

DIY Fashion, Marker Pen Print Top, great project if you have a spare 5 minutes!

I bought a white vest top from New Look last year and it’s still in the plastic wrapping, I also have one in peach that I still haven’t worn, so next time I’m at the supermarket, I’m heading to the stationery department for a ruler and a marker pen to try out Made In Pretoria’s Marker Print top. It’s such a simple tutorial and completely changes the look of the top, which is what I need to revamp those 2 tops that haven’t seen the light of day! Good thing is you can choose different colour marker pens depending on […]
