Ginger Truffles – Vegan, No bake and oh so good. Friends and family will love these tasty treats.

I was at a loose end this afternoon and wanted to give home made sweets a try, so checking what I had in stock I opted to make a lovely batch of Ginger Truffles. They turned out absolutely delightful and I’m seriously contemplating getting some little gift boxes and making these as gifts for friends this Christmas. Ginger Truffles – Vegan, No bake and oh so good (Vegan & Gluten Free) Makes 9 truffles   Ingredients   3/4 cup oats (make sure GF) ½ cup almonds 1 Cup pitted dates 1 ½ teaspoons ground ginger 4 tablespoons maple syrup 1 teaspoon […]

Chocolate, Date & Oat Beauties! We all need a little treat every now and again, don’t we?

I bought a new muffin pan and wanted to try it out but little did I realise that the first thing I would make in them wouldn’t be muffins! I decided to go down the no bake road (purely because the weather is silly hot again and I didn’t want to be faffing about with the oven!). These scrumptious beauties were so easy to prepare and are (well in my opinion) a decadent treat, that’s nice to make every now and again.   Chocolate, Date & Oat Beauties! A vegan, no bake treat Makes 8 Servings   Ingredients 2 cups […]

Sweet Potato & Onion Falafel served with Home-Made Spicy Chips

I wanted to make a meal fit for kings and to show our house guest and good friend that eating vegan doesn’t have to be a lettuce leaf and glass of water, so I opted to make some falafel, I know, it’s a safe bet, but I wanted to make something that is quick and easy to recreate. The verdict in, he LOVED it, it’s great that he enjoys spicy food like we do as you can do so much with a full spice cupboard, so I am delighted that our first dinner went according to plan! Sweet Potato & […]

Brad Pitt and the Chanel No 5 advert! The man keeps getting better with age.

We were having lunch today and the adverts came on during the news break and lo and behold there was Brad Pitt looking fabulous and advertising Chanel No 5. I’ve seen mixed reviews from people about what they think of the advert, but I’m laying it on the line… I LOVED IT. Brad looks great and yes, the script is a little cheesey, but I’ll take it. “Wherever I go, there you are. My luck, my fate, my fortune. Chanel No. 5. Inevitable.” It took me back to the days of Se7en, Interview with a Vampire and Meet Joe Black, […]

Quick and Easy Tshirt Refashion, takes about 10 minutes and great results

I just found this great tutorial for refashioning a tshirt into a slashed weave top. It was so very simple I ran upstairs, got this old tshirt out and just went for it (hence the reason it’s a bit jagged – I didn’t wait to go buy a decent pair of scissors to make the cutting neater). This took about 10 minutes and as I said, it will look much better next time when I’ve got a proper pair of fabric scissors and I’ll take a bit more care over how straight my weaving is, I do love the result […]

Couture DIY Fashion – Upcycle an old tie into a Preppy Style Necklace, great with a white tshirt.

As I get older, there are times when I have to really think about the styles I can and can’t get away with, so when I saw this tutorial for upcycling a tie into a necklace it got my mind whirling. I love the whole preppy look it has, but it is too young…. I’m going to say no, purely because I love the look of it, especially when worn with the white tshirt, it just looks fabulous and also because of the relative ease in which it can be made. I agree with Shelley, it would also look fantastic […]
